6.1 million children in the U.S. are food insecure
Food insecurity is inadequate access to nutritious food.
23 million Americans live in Food Deserts
A food desert is an area that has limited access to affordable and nutritious food & is more than a mile from a grocery store. Families in food deserts have higher rates of disease due to an abundance of processed food and a lack of fresh options.
Our method is simple: plant gardens, nourish families, strengthen communities, and harvest health. To us, access to fresh food through local urban gardens is at the root of thriving communities.
